How we select
Six rules decide whether a food joins the range. They also explain why the range is short.

Sourcing
We buy graded, food-grade seed from established UK and European suppliers, and we ask for the same specification every run. Where a crop varies by season, we say so on the product page rather than quietly changing the blend.

No hidden bulking
Wheat and milo are cheap and mostly ignored by garden birds. They are not in our blends. What you pay for is what the birds eat.

Freshness
Sunflower hearts and nyjer lose oil as they age, and stale seed is the most common reason a feeder goes quiet. We buy in shorter runs, date the sacks where it matters, and publish a best-before window.

Cleaning and grading
Mealworms are sieved twice to remove dust and broken casings. Blends are graded for even particle size so feeders empty evenly instead of jamming.

Safety
Suet ships unnetted — loose netting traps birds and wildlife. Nyjer is heat-treated so it cannot germinate in borders. Feeding guidance on every product includes hygiene, because dirty feeders spread disease.

Packing
Paper and card wherever the product allows it, resealable bags where moisture is the risk, and no plastic pillow filler. Case sizes are chosen for weekly refills, not for shelf theatre.
