Black Oil Sunflower — 20kg

The everyday seed, graded thin-shell

£99

Whole black oil sunflower, screened for thin shells and low moisture. It lasts longer in a feeder than hearts, suits almost every visitor, and is the cheapest honest way to keep a busy garden fed all winter.

What makes ours different

We buy thin-shell crops only, so small beaks open them. Most sacks on the shelf mix thick and thin shell together.

  • Thin-shell grade — easier for tits and finches to crack
  • Screened for sticks, dust and split kernels
  • Slower to empty than hearts, so fewer refills
  • Moisture checked on arrival, never sacked damp

Questions

Whole seed or hearts?

Whole seed lasts longer and costs less per kilo. Hearts are tidier and faster to eat.

Will it germinate?

Dropped seed can sprout. A tray under the feeder stops most of it.

Is it dusty?

It is screened before sacking, so far less than unscreened seed.
